BIOGRAPHY OF OUR MATRIARCH MADAM JULIANAH MODUPE FOLASADE ADUNNI OLAMILOKUN (Nee FAGBOHUNGBE) Our Matriarch, Madam Julianah Modupe Folasade Adunni Olamilokun was born on 29th April, 1921 and left this world to join the saints on 20th August, 2023 at the Age of 102 years in her residence at Modupe Villa, Ilaje Ilesa. Mama was the first child of her parents. Her father, Baba Daniel Fagbohungbe, aka Ologbenla came from Ikole Ekiti to settle in Ilesa. Her mother was Mama Alice Ige FAGBOHUNGBE. She had opportunity of being enrolled at Holy Trinity Anglican Primary School, Omofe, Ilesa. However, she couldn't go far because she had to stop schooling at Standard 4 to help take care of her father who suddenly fell sick. Nevertheless, mama learned to write in impressive cursive handwriting which she used throughout her life. On her maternal side, Mama was the great granddaughter of AOKO, one of the legendary warriors who fought for the liberation of Ijesaland from invaders and aggression. It was not surprising that militant boldness and fearlessness was in Mama’s DNA. Our Matriarch was a very hardworking, cooperative daughter to her parents. They were at peace in committing care of many things dear to them, to her management. She was a dotting and dynamic elder sister to her siblings. Her immediate look-alike sister, Mummy Aderemi was very close to her despite the wide age gap between them. Mama was a Historian of Precise! With ease, she would give load-downs of biographies of many personalities of time. In early 1940s, after marriage, she followed her husband, our Patriarch, Julius Olayinka Olamilokun, to Ijebuland in present day Ogun State before settling down in Epe in present day Lagos State for trading (OSOMÀÁLÓ Trade). There, earlier children were given birth to. The union was under 10 years when in1948, B.P. 19, EGBEIDI St, the Family House was built at Ilesa. Later, the family relocated back to Ilesa. At Ilesa, the Family business of sale of clothing materials at A21 Adeti Street, Ilesa flourished till the early 60s when her husband relocated to the northern part of the country. She stayed behind to take care of the home front and relocated her clothing business to Atakunmosa Market. Mama in the cause of her trading would travel to Lagos, Kano and Ibadan for bulk purchase of new Clothes for selling at Ilesa and to other towns. She usually pray for her customers thus “Olorun Ayo Babalola a se ti yin la se pe” meaning God of Ayo Babalola will also make you successful. Our matriarch remained in the clothing trade throughout her lifetime. Our Matriarch was very neat and meticulous, she was a great cook and a resilient home builder. She was a mother hen that could go to great lengths to protect every chick in her territory from intruders. Nevertheless, she would not spare the shouts and rods of correction to 'set head of any erring child straight'. At BP19 Egbeidi Street Ilesa in the 50s, 60s and 70s, Mama was the pillar of discipline. She set a very high standard for all the children. In fact, she was the mother of mothers in the house. Mama best song is:   Olorun Ayo MODUPE  Olorun Ayo o seun,  Olorun Ayo mo yin o,  Olorun Ayo o seun o.  Mama was a very good Christian and she worshipped at Christ Apostolic Church Araromi Ilesa. She was prominent in her band and was a very cheerful giver. As a pioneer member of the Christ Apostolic Church Araromi, she was very supportive of the dreams of her husband in reaching the peak of his callings. Although there were vicissitudes along her path, our matriarch faced all challenges with decorum and submission to God. We can now say with boldness that Mama came, saw, and conquered and we have all reasons to celebrate her and praise God for a meaningful Christian life. We thank God for her sacrificial life and pray that the Church and the family she left behind would draw inspiration and resolve to remain united and focused on the goal of spending eternity with Jesus Christ the author and finisher of our faith.  Our Matriarch is survived by sister, cousins, nieces, nephews, children, grandchildren, great grandchildren and great great grandchildren.
